Changelog & Data Transparency
Every update to the Climate Cost Index — new categories, score revisions, methodology changes, and source updates.
Auto-category expansion system launched
Deployed the public Scan a Product feature powered by Claude vision API. Products scanned by users are matched to existing CCI categories or flagged for new category creation.
Category naming standardization
Renamed several categories for clarity and consistency: iPhone-Tier renamed to Premium Smartphone, Laptop (General) renamed to Laptop, and similar changes across the wiki. Slugs updated to match.
Added 10 new categories (board game, running shoe, etc.)
Expanded the wiki with 10 new product categories including board games, running shoes, headphones, yoga mats, and more. Each scored using the same conservative-first methodology.
Launched CCI v1.0-draft
Published the first draft of the Climate Cost Index methodology — conservative-first scoring, scope 1/2/3 decomposition, and transparent source hierarchy. Pre-LCA advisor review.
Initial 15 categories published
Launched the first 15 wiki categories covering consumer electronics, apparel, food, and packaging. Each includes CCI score, scope breakdown, emission hotspots, and sourced references.
